Vocal Music of the African Diaspora: A workshop with Boston Singers Resource

Join Opera on Tap Boston and Boston Singers Resource for a workshop introducing the extensive world of vocal music from the African Diaspora celebrating the legacy of Black composers who played a pivotal role in shaping classical vocal music.

Nina Evelyn, soprano and P.S.C. candidate at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee, will lead the session, offering an overview of the historic contributions of Black composers to the classical vocal realm and resources for discovering and programing this rich repertoire.

This free workshop, open to the public with suggested donations of $10 for students and $20 for individuals, provides attendees with insights into composers’ major contributions, composition style, listening examples, and a brief reference to contemporaries.
